ENCAUSTIC WORKSHOP at GALERIE RYE:

I will be teaching an encaustic workshop at GALERIE RYE
Saturday, January 22 · noon - 4:00pm.

Please contact galerierye@gmail.com or ashdoucette@gmail.com for more information. The workshops will be 4 hours long with studio time after the instructional period. The cost to enroll in a workshop is $75 (material cost included) and each participant will make their own encaustic work of art to take home!

The Tree of Life and Death

Une nouvelle oeuvre pour le Salon d'automne du Musée des Beaux Arts de Mont-Saint-Hilaire en octobre.

C'est une technique récente qui m'occupe énormément ces temps-ci, l'acrylique et l'ecaustique. L'oeuvre en question mesure 20"x36" par 4" de profond.

expozine 2009 weekend

So expozine weekend has just passed... wow. What a weekend!! Being my first experience, I had no idea what to expect. Overall I had a great time, I sold a lot of ladies and Dolls and I am so grateful that so many people chose my work to bring home and to give as gifts. I brought back some goodies of my own: some zines, books, posters, screenprints and more.

My neighbors were Charlene (yep! surprise!!) and Geneviève Dumas whom I had the chance to chat with. She is the founder of Moly Kulte Art/fashion studio on Mt-Royal. Read an article about her here.

So a great weekend, I definitely will do it again next year!

18e Expo Concours de La Prairie

I will be showing a piece at the Expo-Concours de LaPrairie! I was accepted in the non-professionnal artist category. There will be a Public's choice award...

syndrome show

A look at the setup from last night... It was very dark, so you'll have to use your imagination! It was nice to see all my work hanging proudly on the wall, with little tags and all. It's the first time I show so much of my new stuff at once. In all, I had a little over 20 pieces. It looked totally PRO! I got so many good comments and encouragement from everyone; Thank you all so much.

The next ones are just around the bend... you just wait and see.

I will be at expozine 2009 with prints and goodies for sale... Here a a few things that will be up for sale. My buddy Charlene Lynch will be showing with me!

Expozine, Montreal’s annual small press, comic and zine fair, will take place on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15, 2009, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 5035 St-Dominique (Église Saint-Enfant Jésus, between St-Joseph and Laurier, near Laurier Métro). Free admission.
This incredible event brings together nearly 300 creators of all kinds of printed matter – from books to zines to posters and graphic novels – in both English and French. In the past eight years, Expozine has become one of North America's largest small press fairs, attracting thousands of visitors as well as exhibitors from as far as France, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, Ottawa, Halifax, Vancouver and Quebec City!
